SPC SCHOOL
ALIGNMENTS
Football:
The SPC schools are divided by competitiveness of programs into
Division I and Division II for football. Division I
and Division II each
play a round-robin schedule to determine
the zone champions within that division. The SPC crowns a Division I Champion
and a Division II Champion following the championship game,
which is held at the host school for that season. Each Division has their own
all-conference selection to recognize individuals representing their
school.
Division I:
Casady,
Holland Hall, Greenhill
St. Mark's, Episcopal High School, St. Johns,
Kinkaid
Division II:
ESD, Cistercian, All Saints,
Oakridge, FWCDS
Trinity
Valley, St. Stephens, St. Andrews
Field
Hockey, Volleyball,
Basketball, Soccer,
Softball, Tennis, Lacrosse:
The SPC is divided into
two zones for field hockey, volleyball, basketball, soccer,
softball, tennis and lacrosse. Teams in the North
Zone and South Zone play round robin competition during the
season to seed the zone. This is called zone play or zone
counters since they count toward seeding the teams in each zone. The top
half of each zone compete in the Division I Tournament at the
end of the season and the bottom half of each zone compete in
the Division II Tournament. For Example: the top 4 seeds from
the North Zone will compete with the top 4 seeds from the South
Zone in a tournament to crown the SPC Division I Champion.
Unlike football, the schools play to determine who is in
Division I or II. Like football, each division has their own
all-conference selection to recognize individuals representing their
school.
North Zone: Casady,
Holland Hall, FWCD, Greenhill,
Cistercian,
Trinity Valley, All Saints, Oakridge.
St. Marks, Hockaday,
South Zone:
ESD, John Cooper, St. Marys Hall, St. Stephens, St. Johns, St. Andrews,
Episcopal High School, Kinkaid
Baseball:
The SPC is divided into three zones for baseball. Teams in the North,
South, and Central Zones play round-robin competition
during the season to seed the zone. This is
called zone play or zone counters
since they count toward seeding the teams in each
zone.
Division I -
eight team championship bracket tournament - top three teams
from the North; top three teams from the South; top two teams
from the Central
Division II -
eight team championship bracket tournament - 3rd - 5th teams
from the North; 3rd-5th teams from the South; 3rd - 6th teams
from the Central; last in the North and South do not qualify for
the season ending tournament.
North Zone: Casady,
Holland Hall, All Saints, St. Mark's, FWCD, Oakridge
South Zone:
Kinkaid, St. John's, EHS, John Cooper,
St. Andrew's, St. Stephen's
Central Zone: Cistercian, ESD, Trinity Valley,
Greenhill, St. Mary's Hall
Cross
Country, Track & Field,
Wrestling, Swimming, Golf:
There is no preliminary or seasonal play. All schools
participate in each season ending meet. Team champions and
runner ups are crowned by the SPC. There is no such
designation as Division I or Division II since all schools
compete to determine the conference champion. All-conference
selections are determined by performance in the meet.
